Books
- The Hobbit- One of the first books I ever read, it introduced me to strange
beings, like the short hairy feeted Hobbits and the great dragon. The Hobbit
Bilbo Baggins joins a group of Dwarves and the magician Gandalf, to hunt for
the treasure of Smaug, the Dragon. I believe Tolkien wrote this novel for
his grandson, and it is a great book for children to read.
- The Lord of the Rings- A absolute classic. The story of Frodo Baggins, who has inherited
the Ring from his uncle Bilbo, who has to leave the Shire after the agents
of Sauron come looking for it. This book has got everything, an epic story,
great evil, good heroes, and a desperate journey to keep the Ring from
Souron. The jewel in Tolkiens crown. Brilliant.
- The Silmarillon
- Unfinished Tales
- The Book of Lost Tales 1
- The Book of Lost Tales 2
- The Lays of Beleriand- I went through these after getting into tLotR. Put together
after Tolkiens death using his notes by his son Christopher. A collection of
short stories, legend, poems, and notes. Not very good, and only for Tolkien
enthusiasts.
