About the Author

Write fantasy novels. Some of his early novels were not very different from standard fantasy, but has greatly improved to produce some outstanding novels.

Born in Illinois, 1944. Undergraduate Degree at Hamilton College, Clinton, New York. Graduate Degree at School of Law at Washington & Lee University, Lexington, Virginia. Previous jobs include being a lawyer. Resides in the Northwest.

Shannara Trilogy

• 1. The Sword of Shannara - (1977) Some might say is similar to _The Lord of the Rings_.

- Best-selling fantasy series. Terry's first efforts were above average and showed his talent for storytelling.

- Sequel Shannara series. Technically improved on Brook's original Shannara series. The next generation of descendants of Shannara must save the world from darkness again.

- Original fantasy series, which has some quite funny elements. A lawyer buys a magic kingdom and becomes king.

Others

• Running with the Demon - Contemporary dark fantasy. A young girl must face the evil powers of a Demon, with help from a Knight of the Word.
  
• Knight of the Word - Contemporary dark fantasy. Sequel to "Running with the Demon".
  
• Angel Fire East - Conclusion of the trilogy. John Ross returns to Nest's hometown, bringing trouble in tow.
